(27 Boedromion) These sacrifices were performed in the Attic demos of Erchia, in association with the Earth Goddess, Athena and Hermes. Akheloös was the primary river god (although the river is located in western Greece, far from Attica) and Alokhos was an anonymous “maiden” (unmarried woman). We have no myth to provide the background for this observance.
